Period delay tablets such as Norethisterone are used to delay your period for holidays or special events. For most people, Norethisterone can be taken for up to 20 days, but it can also be used in the treatment of painful heavy periods and endometriosis, for which it would be taken for several months.
Period delay tablets are not available over the counter in the UK, but you can get them on prescription from your GP or an online pharmacy such as Dr Felix.
If you want to delay your period long-term, a combined oral contraceptive pill may be the best option. The pill will protect you from pregnancy, but will also allow you to delay your period for up to three months. If you want to start taking the pill, you will need to make an appointment with your GP for an initial assessment. They will check that it will be safe for you to take the pill and they may discuss other contraceptive options with you. You can order the pill on prescription from your GP or online pharmacies such as Dr Felix.
