Contraception online

Can I get contraception from the comfort of my home?

Here at Dr Felix we have many types of hormonal contraceptive pills available to order online. Before we can issue you with a prescription, we need to make sure you're eligible to take the pill. Once you submit your order request, you'll get a consultation with one of our doctors.

What types of contraception do you have available?

We stock all brands of the pill that are available in the UK, including both the combined pill and the progestin-only pill (mini-pill). We also provide the vaginal ring depending on your preference; which is known by the brand name NuvaRing. You can view the different types of contraceptive types and accompanying information about them here.

What happens when I order online?

When you order contraception online, you can receive a 3 or 6 month supply of your chosen pill. After your order is accepted, it will be dispatched and arrive at your delivery address within 48 hours. It's important to see your GP at least once a year to get your blood pressure checked while you are taking the pill. If you haven't done this recently, we might not be able to prescribe you online contraception.

Can I order the morning after pill online?

We stock both types of the morning after pill which are available to order online. However, we cannot issue this on-demand for emergency contraception. The morning after pill must be taken as soon as possible in order for it to be effective. This is particularly important for Levonelle. For this reason, you should go straight to your GP, local pharmacy or sexual health clinic rather than wait for it to arrive in the post.

You can order it in advance for times and plan for the future; when you are travelling, in rural areas or with limited access to contraception.

I have a medical condition- can I still order the pill?

You'll have a one-to-one consultation with one of our doctors to determine whether or not the pill is suitable for you. If you have any of the following conditions, you should not take the combined pill. Please let the doctor know of any underlying conditions you have so they can make sure they're prescribing you the correct type of contraception.

  • A history of heart problems
  • Having had a stroke
  • High blood pressure
  • Blood clots
  • A personal or family history of blood clots
  • Breast cancer or a history of it
  • Liver problems
  • Migraines
  • Obesity
  • Smokers over the age of 35
