You might think Viagra and Sildafenil are 2 different medications. Viagra is actually just a branded version of Sildenafil. Sildenafil is the chemical component responsible for helping treat erectile dysfunction and Viagra contains this chemical component. Sildenafil is a Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor (PDE-5 inhibitor) initially created to treat pulmonary hypertension but now has found a new use in the medical field of erectile dysfunction.
Erectile dysfunction (ED), which can be referred to as impotence, is a problem men face with age. It is the inability for one to achieve and maintain an erection for sexual activity. Most men experience ED at some point in their life, and the chances of suffering from ED increases with age. ED can be a result of anxiety, stress or even exhaustion. By addressing these issues, ED can be tackled. However, there can be more health issues that surround ED. ED affects 50% of men aged 40-70 years old and millions of men around the world. When there is insufficient blood flow to the penis, it doesn’t allow for the penis to become erect and hence hinders any sexual activity.
The symptoms of erectile dysfunction:
The brain is not only involved in getting an erection. Male hormones, emotions, nerves, muscles and blood vessels also play a key role. If there are problems with any one of these individual motors in the erection circuit, it can result in ED. Mental health worries such as stress or performance anxiety are also some other causes. Most cases of ED are due to a combination of physical and psychological issues.
Sildafenil are medications that block an enzyme (cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase type 5), and belong to a group of medications called PDE-5 inhibitors. They are responsible for regulating the blood flow to the body. This also includes the blood flow to the penis, By blocking this enzyme, men are able to more easily get an erection and also to keep this erection when sexually aroused.
SIldafenil exerts its effects by maintaining a level of the chemical messenger cGMP in the smooth muscle cells of the penis. The cGMP relaxes the smooth muscles walls of the penis that are involved in making the penis erect allowing more blood to flow into the penis, keeping it erect. Sildafenil can exert its effects within an hour if taken on an empty stomach. It doesn’t produce an erection that lasts 3-6 hours but enables you to get one within this time frame. When taken full stomach after a fatty meal, it might need more time to work that is why it is recommended to take Sildafenil on an empty stomach. It can be taken up to 4 hours before sex as it still needs the element of sexual stimulation to work. After partaking in sexual intercourse, your erection should disappear. If this does not happen and your erection has been maintained for more than 4 hours, make sure to visit the emergency room and get treatment.
Viagra was first created by Pfizer and gained its approval by the FDA as an erectile dysfunction medication in 1998 and later went on to procure a patent for the right to the medication. Having a medical patent for a drug prevents other pharmaceutical manufacturers from making the same drug and selling it. When the UK patent for Viagra expired in 2013, it allowed other companies to produce the generic Viagra or simply Sildenafil. Viagra is still available for purchase but so is its generic form Sildafenil. The only difference in the medication, other than its name, is the price. As Viagra is a branded drug is it more costly which Sildenafil can be bought at a fraction of the price.
Pfizer’s Viagra comes in its iconic small diamond-shaped blue pills (its patented design and appearance). Sildafenil on the other hand can come in different shapes and colours based on the manufacturing company. Viagra and Sildenafill can come in different preparations of 25mg, 50mg and 100mg. We at Dr Felix offer and Viagra for erectile dysfunction with shipment straight to your door in plain and discreet packaging.
Viagra is a prescription medication and is not available over the counter in pharmacies. As this posed a limitation on the purchase of Viagra, many Viagra counterfeits were created and started circulating the black market. These counterfeit medications were health risks as they were fake and posed many health worries. Due to this, a non-prescriptive spin-off of Viagra was born: Viagra Connect. Viagra Connect is not available over the counter in pharmacies, so you can ensure you are getting untainted medication. Viagra Connect online is available on Dr Felix, prescription and hassle-free. Get yours now from a trusted UK pharmacy.
