Yasmin Pill Side Effects

Yasmin is used primarily to prevent pregnancy. This contraceptive prevents the release of the egg from the female reproductive system. In addition, it modifies the lining of the uterus and cervix, making those parts of the body inhospitable to fertilization. It is incredibly effective at preventing pregnancy, but it also has the potential to produce unpleasant side effects.

Can You Take Yasmin During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding?

If you are already pregnant or you are breastfeeding, you should not take this drug. It can cause birth defects in developing foetuses, and it is not able to terminate a pregnancy. It should not be used to that purpose, as it can cause unintended side effects for the mother and child. For breastfeeding mothers, there is the risk of harming the developing child, as the drug will enter the mother’s bloodstream and seep into the milk.

What Are the Minor Side Effects of Yasmin?

The most common side effects reported for Yasmin are headache and migraine. These can be treated with over-the-counter medications, but if the problem becomes too severe or persists, then you should talk to your doctor. In most cases, these side effects and other minor ones will disappear after you stop using the drug and it has left your bloodstream.

The minor side effects also include emotional changes, loss of libido, irritability, weight gain, depression and a false sense of feeling well.

What are the Serious Side Effects of Yasmin?

The more serious side effects need to be reported to your doctor immediately. In some cases, they may require medical attention right away. Even if they seem minor, any of the listed side effects that are classified as major need to be treated immediately. They can indicate a serious medical problem that can lead to severe damage over time. The sooner they are tested, the better off you will be.

Major side effects include breast pain, nausea, changes in menstrual periods, vomiting, chills, vaginal bleeding, throbbing headaches, abdominal pain, dizziness and more. If these or any other side effects not listed here occur, then you need to treat them as severe and immediate health threats.

What Should You Do If You Notice Any Side Effects?

Keep in mind that certain medical conditions or medications can make your side effects even worse. Ensure that you always read the patient information leaflet thoroughly and you should make your doctor or pharmacist aware of any conditions you have or treatment you are receiving so that they can advise you as to whether or not Yasmin is suitable for you. In some cases, you will have to take an alternative drug because of a medical condition you have.

Bladder Infection Home Remedies

While many people who are suffering from cystitis turn to their doctor for a medical treatment, many others prefer to try an alternative bladder infection treatment.
