Governing Bodies

Dr Felix offers information, advice and treatment for a range of medical conditions. This service is provided by qualified UK doctors who are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and comply with GMC ‘Good practice guidelines‘.

Dr Felix adheres to essential healthcare standards to deliver an online GP and pharmacy service. Our registered pharmacy is regulated by General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and a NUMARK member internet pharmacy. Our online chemist can be trusted to deliver a high level of service.

All medicine dispensed from our community pharmacy is the same medicine you would get if you were to walk into a pharmacy anywhere in the UK. The regulating body for licensing medicine to be sold in the UK is MHRA.

The doctors at Dr Felix must act in your best interests at all times, by law.

Non-regulated online clinics

Non-regulated websites may supply fake medicine. This medicine can be ineffective or dangerous. People receiving prescription medicine should be given accurate medical information and health professionals are legally and morally obliged to deliver effective advice and treatment. Please be aware of what you are taking and it is suitable for your condition. Please look for a GMC registration number of the GP providing your prescription and GPhC internet pharmacy logo to ensure the medicines dispensed are genuine from a registered UK pharmacy.

Regulation

England & Wales

Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the body that regulates any independent clinics offering medical advice and treatment including online doctor services such as Lloyds Online Doctor, Superdrug Online Doctor, DrEd, Pharmacy2U etc based in England & Wales. These websites must adhere to ‘the essential standards‘ operated by the Care Quality Commission. If you are using an online doctor and pharmacy registered in England & Wales and have any queries please contact the CQC.

Scotland

Independent healthcare services registered in Scotland like DrFelix are not regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Healthcare Improvement Scotland are the regulator for independent healthcare services across Scotland. This was previously the remit of the Care Commission. Dr Felix adheres to professional standards in all our business operations which are as follows:

  • Standards of providing care, treatment and support that meets people’s needs.
  • Standards of caring for people safely and protecting them from harm.
  • Standards of complying with Data Protection Act and keeping your details confidential and safe.
  • Dr Felix allows customer feedback and deals with complaints in an efficient manner in accordance with our written complaints procedure. We operate a continuous improvement policy and welcome reviews from patients and professional bodies.

Dr Felix Doctors

Our doctors are all UK based registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and comply with the ‘Good Medical Practice’ and as such regulated by the GMC.

 

Our doctors are equipped with the knowledge and experience to deal with online consultations and issuing prescriptions online. Each private prescription issued carries their GMC number on it which is then forwarded to our dispensing pharmacy and kept on file for a certain period of time to comply with regulation.

Dr Felix Pharmacy

All medicines prescribed by our doctors are dispensed by qualified staff from our Calderbank Pharmacy.

Our NHS community pharmacy is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). The superintendent is also registered with the GPhC. Dr Felix website is registered as an internet pharmacy with the GPhC and as such displays the green logo on our website.
