|0||1 test kit||29.99|
This kit tests for oral gonorrhoea and chlamydia, two common sexually transmitted infections which can be passed on during vaginal, anal or oral sex.
To use the test kit open the package carefully and wash your hands before beginning. Remove the swab from the packet and run it along the inside of your cheek, turning it over to ensure you collect an adequate sample. Carefully place the swab sample into the container provided, ensuring you do not spill any of the liquid. Once you have done this, break off the end of the stick and screw the lid back onto the container. Place your sample in the return package provided and post it to our laboratory.
Once you have collected your sample, it gets sent back to us to be tested for the chlamydia and gonorrhoea infections within our laboratory. We will then contact you by text message within 2-3 days to let you know the results of the test. If you have tested positive for either infection then you will be prescribed an antibiotic to treat it.
We use the same testing technology as the NHS so the results are as accurate as possible. The test kit is very reliable provided it is used correctly as instructed. If the package arrives damaged in any way this can compromise the sterile contents. Contact us and we will send you a fresh kit if this happens. If you drop your cotton swab, or spill the liquid from the container then you will need a new testing kit sent out to you for accurate results.
A sore throat is usually the only symptom of oral gonorrhoea which may cause discomfort when swallowing. In 90% of cases, oral gonorrhoea produces no symptoms which is why it is important to get tested if you have engaged in unprotected oral sex.
A chlamydia infection in the throat usually causes no symptoms but you may experience a sore throat, cough or fever like symptoms. Getting tested is the only way to know for sure if you have oral chlamydia which is passed on during oral sex with an infected partner.
This test is for anyone who has engaged in unprotected oral sex with a new partner or a partner who may be infected with chlamydia or gonorrhea.
Your results will be sent to you in a text message where you will find out if you have tested positive or negative for oral gonorrhea and chlamydia.
You can catch oral gonorrhoea and chlamydia by performing oral sex on an infected partner. Both infections often don't produce symptoms so your partner may not know that they have it.
If your test results come back positive for oral chlamydia or gonorrhea then you will be issued with an antibiotic to clear up the infection. It is usually taken as one dose. During this time you should not have sex until 7 days after you have began your treatment to ensure the infection has cleared. You will also need to inform your partner, including any past partners who may be at risk of having the infection. Your current partner will need to be treated too otherwise you can reinfect each other. It's recommended to also get tested for other types of gonorrhea and chlamydia to ensure that you are treated properly.
Oral gonorrhoea and chlamydia can be avoided by using condoms and dental dams as a barrier while performing oral sex. This is recommended when with a new partner, or if you have multiple partners.
The test is confidential and the results will not be shared with anyone. The at home testing kit provides added discretion, allowing you to undergo the test without having to visit a clinic.
This test can only be used to test for gonorrhoea and chlamydia present in the mouth or throat. We have other testing kits available to test for gonorrhoea and chlamydia in the genitals or rectum.
The test kit comes in a discreet, unmarked package. Nobody will be able to tell what's inside it.
For oral gonorrhea and chlamydia, the test is the same for both men and women. The test will be different for testing on the genitals; with women providing a swab sample from inside the vagina and men giving a urine sample.
