What is salbutamol / salamol easi breathe?

Salbutamol (Salamol) is a reliever inhaler used to ease the symptoms of an asthma attack.

How is asthma triggered?

Asthma can be triggered by factors such as exercise, stress and smoke and causes tightness in the chest and difficulty breathing.

How does salbutamol work?

Salbutamol treats symptoms by widening the airways to allow air to pass through more easily, relieving chest tightness and wheezing. It can also be used before exercise or exposure to substances such as pollen and dust to prevent an asthma attack from occurring.

Salamol Easi-Breathe inhaler contains the active ingredient salbutamol sulphate which relaxes the airway muscles to relieve symptoms of an asthma attack.

The recommended dose of Salamol Easi-Breathe inhaler to treat an asthma attack is one puff when symptoms occur, which can be increased to two puffs.

To prevent an asthma attack caused by exercise or allergens, the recommended dose is two puffs 10-15 minutes before exposure to the trigger.

Common side effects associated with the use of Salamol Easi-Breathe inhaler include dizziness, headache, shakiness and feeling tense.

Refer to the Salamol patient information leaflet for a complete list of cautions and side effects.
